J ackie Davies, the founder and owner of Eat Out In, recently sat down with Women Entrepreneur to talk about how she began her business and to give advice for entrepreneurs interested in forming a company.

Davies pioneered the restaurant delivery services industry by pursuing an idea that came to her more than 25 years ago. She encourages entrepreneurs who have a fresh, new idea to act on it.

She also advises new business owners to "extend [their] skill set[s]." Davies mentions that she has been able to use freelance designers and copywriters, as opposed to an ad agency, because of her sales and marketing experience. But she urges entrepreneurs to know their limitations and hire professionals when necessary.

For example, if an entrepreneur is interested in starting a corporation, he or she could seek help from an incorporation service to determine whether starting an LLC  is best and ask for assistance filing incorporation forms.

Another important lesson Davies has learned is to trust her instincts. She recommends that entrepreneurs trust their abilities and learn along the way.

In order to build credibility, entrepreneurs must know their business. Patience is also key, Davies says, because some ideas are ahead of their time and take a while to catch on.
