Contributing Legal Author

Ariele Yaffee is a licensed attorney with nearly ten years of experience across the public and private sectors. She served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office, worked as Counsel for an international consulting firm, and clerked for a Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice. After leaving practice, she spent three years with two wilderness therapy programs, supporting adolescents and young adults with mental health challenges.

Her legal background spans government, private counsel, and judicial work — a range that gives her writing a grounded, practical perspective on the questions entrepreneurs actually face.

Ariele writes about the legal and business topics that matter most to entrepreneurs starting and running a business. Her articles cover business formation, S Corporation tax elections, real estate investment structures, payroll and PEO comparisons, solopreneur strategy, and the question of when — and whether — you need a lawyer. She also covers budgeting for early-stage businesses and retirement planning for self-employed founders.
