Bizee is a business formation platform that started 20 years ago in a spare bedroom and has since helped over 1 million entrepreneurs form their businesses. Bizee is a business formation platform founded roughly 20 years ago by co-founder Kyle Lavender, starting with nothing more than a spare bedroom, a filing cabinet, and handwritten checks to the state. That origin story isn't just history — it's the reason we built the platform the way we did.

In those early days, business formation orders came in over the phone. Every order was logged by hand. Every state filing was handled manually. The team was small, the resources were tight, and every dollar had to count. That experience of bootstrapping from nothing shaped how we think about what entrepreneurs actually need.

As the business grew, we moved into our first commercial space in Houston — furnished with Ikea furniture because that's what made sense at the time. That Houston office is now our global headquarters. The furniture has changed. The mindset hasn't.

In 2019, we made a decision that no one else in the industry had made without institutional backing: we offered $0 LLC formation (plus state fees) as a standard option. No private equity. No public market safety net. Just a bet that lowering the cost of entry would open the door for more entrepreneurs.

It was a real risk. Our well-funded competitors had resources we didn't. But the offer landed — and it landed hard. Customers responded, and eventually our competitors followed. That moment changed what the industry looked like for everyone who came after.

The timing mattered too. The $0 formation offer launched just before the pandemic hit, which turned out to be one of the most active periods for new business formation in recent memory. We were ready when entrepreneurs needed us most.

The name Incfile reflected where we started. Bizee reflects where we're going. As our platform expanded beyond formation filings into registered agent services, compliance support, annual report filing, and more, the old name no longer fit what we'd become.
